This thread will chronicle some notable and cool paint liveries of the A-10 Thunderbolt II, or the Warthog.
Starting out with the "Chocolate Lizard" scheme. This was the livery that was applied to the first run of A-10s off the line. They switched to grey soon after. pic.twitter.com/JtNopkaOsQ

This is another experimental scheme known as the "spotted" or "JAWS" scheme. In '77, the USAF was working on the Joint Attack Weapons System program, where they found the usual Grey color stood out against the terrain (Who woulda thought?) Only 4 planes were painted in the livery pic.twitter.com/H5pXY4CtwL

This "Black Lightning" scheme was painted onto an A-10 of the 118th "Fighting Yankees", which pays homage to the scheme painted on P-51s flown by the same unit in WW2. It was painted in 2003 in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the formation of the Connecticut Air Natl Guard pic.twitter.com/9mqXcfeIaq
