Príncipe Harry serviu por 10 anos no Royal Army, com dois períodos no Afeganistão. O primeiro foi em 2008, como infantaria e após, em 2012, como piloto de helicóptero de ataque Apache.
Normalmente os tour no Afegaistão eram anunciados após o seu retorno à Inglaterra. O objetivo era de não criar alvos para os Talibans e por em risco as operações dos ingleses no país.
