RENAULT TRUCKS Defense now possesses dual technological building blocks for the robotization of motorized land vehicles.
The robotization of motorized land vehicles developed within the AB Volvo Group enables RENAULT TRUCKS Defense to possess robust, reliable and affordable "robotic" technological building blocks for robotizing its own products or equipment in the course of development.
After adaptation of the technological building blocks to military usage, and the use of autonomous software architectures suited to the military environment (random obstacles, travel on changeable terrain, threats, etc.), these robotized units, endowed with advanced artificial intelligence, will accomplish their missions fully autonomously and in complete security.
These technologies will, in the near future, make it possible to equip robot mules for carrying a soldier's kit, as well as tactical or logistics transport vehicles, and systems for route opening, site protection or mobility support.
