Viatura de combate de infantaria Puma
19 de abril de 2023 – O Escritório Federal de Equipamentos Bundeswehr, Tecnologia da Informação e Suporte em Serviço (BAAINBw) da Alemanha concedeu à Projekt System & Management GmbH (PSM), uma joint venture da Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) e Rheinmetall, um pedido de modernização mais 143 veículos de combate de infantaria Puma. Ao fazer isso, o governo alemão está exercendo duas opções contidas no contrato para adaptar os veículos de combate de infantaria Puma originais ao novo status de design S1. Este contrato foi assinado em junho de 2021.
O volume de pedidos é da ordem de € 770 milhões. Até 2029, as principais capacidades de poder de fogo e comando e controle de todos os 143 sistemas Puma serão atualizadas. Exercer essas opções garante que cada Puma no inventário da Bundeswehr esteja em conformidade com o status de design S1 uniforme. Entre outras coisas, o retrofit inclui a integração de sistemas de câmeras diurnas e noturnas de alta resolução, o sistema de míssil guiado leve multifunção MELLS e equipamento de rádio digital.
Bundeswehr orders upgrade of 143 Puma infantry fighting vehicles
19 April 2023 – Germany’s Federal Office for Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) has awarded Projekt System & Management GmbH (PSM), a joint venture of Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) and Rheinmetall, an order to retrofit a further 143 Puma infantry fighting vehicles. In doing so, the German government is exercising two options contained in the contract for retrofitting original Puma infantry fighting vehicles to the new S1 design status. This contract was signed in June 2021.
The order volume is in the region of €770 million. By 2029, the key capabilities of firepower and command and control of all 143 Puma systems will be brought up to date. Exercising these options assures that every Puma in the Bundeswehr inventory will conform to the uniform S1 design status. Among other things, the retrofit includes integration of high-resolution day- and night-capable camera systems, the MELLS multirole-capable lightweight guided missile system, and digital radio equipment.
