Petrobras reported that a unit of production has arrived in Brazil and will be installed at the Santos Basin pre-salt pole. Since Sunday (Dec. 20), the FPSO Saquarema town platform-ship berthed at Rio de Janeiro.
The new unit, responsible for production, storage, and transfer of oil and gas, will work in the Lula oil field, at a depth of 2,200 meters and is scheduled to begin operations in the first half of 2016.
The FPSO has been originated from the oil tanker VLCC (Very Large Crude Carrier in China's CXG shipyard). It will be able to produce up to 150,000 barrels of oil per day, and daily compress 6 million cubic meters of gas, and store up to 1.6 million barrels of oil.
Petrobras' reports indicate that at Brasa shipyard, responsible for building six of FPSO modules, the operations of lifting and integration of processing plant modules will be concluded.
Operated by Petrobras (65% of shares), the Lula oil field concession in the BM-S-11 block (Maritime Santos Basin) is a partnership with BG E & P Brazil (25%) and Petrogal Brazil (10%).
Production
One of the country's major areas for producing oil and gas, the pre-salt layer increased 1.8% of its output last November, compared with October. According to Petrobras, it reached a daily average production of 1.023 million barrels of oil equivalent (oil and gas), compared with a daily average of 1.005 million in October.
Concerning only the oil, the total production reached, in November, a daily average of 820,000 barrels per day, up 1.3% compared with the previous month (809,000 barrels).
