Rio de Janeiro, April  2015 – The Diplomatic Mission of the United States in Brazil, led by Ambassador Liliana Ayalde, along with distinguished U.S. military visitors Lieutenant General Kenneth Tovo; Vice Admiral Joseph Rixey; and Lieutenant General Mark Nowland, toured the opening day of the Latin American Aerospace and Defense Conference – the largest conference and international fair dedicated to the Latin American armed forces and defense industries.

The delegation stressed the robust global partnership between the United States and Brazil. Between April 14 and 17, the event attracted 700 exhibitors, including more than 80 U.S. companies and 55 delegations from over than 70 countries.

During the visit to the fair, the delegation visited U.S. exhibitors’ booths located in the three pavilions of Riocentro, in Rio de Janeiro. The Ambassador spoke at a lunch organized by the Brazil-U.S. Business Council for U.S. delegations, businesses, and Brazilian authorities. "It is an honor to be here with you today and to highlight not only our bilateral relations, but also the relationship between our militaries. I think that being here with you is timely because this is a very positive moment for our bilateral relationship," said Ambassador Ayalde.

The delegation later attended a reception sponsored by Embraer, along with the Minister Counselor for Commercial Affairs for the U.S. & Foreign Commercial Service in Brazil, Brian Brisson, and the U.S. Acting Consul General in Rio de Janeiro Michael Yoder.
